  • We're looking for an Accounting Clerk who can perform general accounting transactions to include, but not limited to, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, assist with audits.

    This position requires a high school diploma and at least 3 years of work experience. A strong foundation in bookkeeping, general office procedures, knowledge of various computer software applications (Windows, Word, Excel, and etc.), and good mathematical skills is preferred.

Day Services

  • We are looking for a passionate and caring Vocational Trainer willing to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within our Day Program. Some of the job duties include but are not limited to assisting with proper personal and oral hygiene, communication skills, community awareness, and independent living skills.

    *This position requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent and a valid SC Driver’s License. At least one year of direct care experience is preferred.

  • We are looking for a Maintenance Assistant who has basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical skills along with basic knowledge of lawn equipment and household appliance repair. Facilities are located throughout the Sumter community and it is the expectation that all grounds and exterior portions of agency property remain in neat, well maintained, and appropriate conditions at all times.

    A High School Diploma or Equivalent and a valid SC Driver's License are required. A viable combination of experience/training will be considered.

Maintenance

  • We're looking for Licensed Practical Nurses who can provide direct nursing care to assigned residential individuals; monitor the general health of assigned individuals; maintain medical charts and write quarterly progress notes; oversee medication administration; schedule medical appointments and escort individuals when necessary; participate in team meetings; complete nursing assessments; provide first aid and assist with medical emergencies when needed; participate in the nursing on-call rotation.

    *This position requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent, a valid SC Driver’s License, completion of an accredited degree program or LPN School of Nursing, and a valid and current LPN license from the South Carolina Board of Nursing.

    *Experience in home health and/or Long Term Care is preferred.

Residential Services

  • We are looking for passionate and caring Direct Support Professionals willing to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within our residential facilities. Some of the job duties include but are not limited to assisting with proper personal and oral hygiene, communication skills, community awareness, general housekeeping, and independent living skills.

    *This position requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent and a valid SC Driver’s License. At least one year of direct care experience is preferred.

  • We are looking for passionate and caring Direct Support Professionals willing to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within our residential facilities.   • We are looking for a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) who can coordinate and supervise the development and delivery of active treatment programs for individuals residing in assigned ICF/MR residences. This includes tasks such as developing annual Individual Program Plans, ensuring compliance with licensing, health, and safety standards, coordinating record reviews and consultant services, and monitoring the facility budget.

    Requirements for this position include a valid SC Driver's License, a four-year degree in Human Services or a related field, and two years' experience working in programs for individuals with developmental disabilities.

  • We’re looking for a Residential Coordinator who can supervise direct care staff; schedule staff to ensure accountability in assigned residences; ensure assigned residences remain in compliance with licensing standards; assist consumers with managing their finances; ensure all required paperwork is current and accurate; oversee purchases of food and supplies; ensure approved menus are followed.

    This position requires an Associate’s Degree in Human Services or a High School Diploma accompanied by two years of experience working with individuals with developmental and related disabilities. Working knowledge of training programs and methods of group supervision and discipline is recommended.

  • The Sumter County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs is recruiting qualified Host Families to assume care for individuals with developmental disabilities within their homes. This situation resembles closely that of foster care homes, usually associated with children and “host homes” which is a term widely used in other regions of the country. The Host Family would be required to have their personal home licensed per regulations of the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs and the South Carolina Fire Marshall’s Office.

    The licensed Host Family would be required to provide the necessary supervision to ensure the consumer(s) in their care were safe, protected, and always accounted for. The Community Training Home-I also requires a habilitation plan that incorporates personalized care, supervision, and individualized training for each consumer served. The maximum number of consumers that can be served in any home is two. The consumer(s) would become a part of the family structure.
